various research projects. He has authored two textbooks and edited five
volumes on health and social issues. An active member of the Indian
Sociological Society and the International Sociological Association, he served
as Treasurer (2006-2009) and Convener (2019-2021)of Research Committee-12:
Sociology of Health, Ageing and Wellbeing, Indian Sociological Society (ISS),
New Delhi. He is also serving as Nominated Member in the State Level Steering
Committee of Research and Development of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare
of Government of Tamil Nadu.
