Technology is inevitable for any business’ sustainable development. Technology helps to increase the efficiency of systems, products and services. New technology is important for businesses to assess the risk, with easier and faster communication. Businesses have innovated their paths forward and come out more resilient and conformable than before. Education innovation is the basis for technological and business innovation. Business is increasingly critical in tackling the world’s great environmental, social and governance challenges. Key inventions and innovations served to shape virtually every existing sector of human activity along industrial lines. The effects of technological change on the global economic structure create immense transformations in how nations organize production and develop new products and processes.
Industry 4.0 brings significant advantages to organizations, including real-time data analysis, increased visibility, autonomous monitoring, enhanced productivity and competitiveness. While companies and industries are still in the middle of this fourth revolution, the next revolution is already well on its way—Industry 5.0. The key features of Industry 5.0 reflect a shift from a focus on economic value to a focus on societal value and a shift in focus from welfare to wellbeing. It is about robots and smart machines helping humans work faster by leveraging advanced technologies such as big data analytics. Industry 5.0 has three key pillars: human-centric, resilient and sustainable. All three have significant implications for business strategy. Knowledge and application of emerging technologies and their advancements are important for all in higher education institutions.
